Twitty

I have an ipod. I download songs to my computer from CD or otherwise and I upload them to my ipod. I am not wiz and do not utilize my software to the best of its abilty but it does what I need it to do and the rest is there if I ever want to figure it out.

A few minutes ago I stopped short when a new song started playing. I’d forgotten it was there. I did not load it on to my ipod intentionally but there it was. And I held my breath for a second.

Conway Twitty.

No I am not a Conway Twitty fan.
No I am not a fan of his type of country music.

The song was given to me by a friend. A friend I hadn’t seen or spoken to in almost 15 years…and that…wouldn’t you know it…is what the song is about.

About a year ago I was poking around Facebook and saw that this same old friend had just signed up. I sent a friend request and literally held my breath. A few days later, we were talking on the phone and catching up on 14+ years of life. Marriage, kids, families, lives.

I should mention that this friend was my first love and even as I write this now I feel knots in my stomach. During one of our conversations he told me about a song that had always reminded him of me and asked if he could send it to me so I could hear it.

Conway Twitty.
